Were You Injured Due To A Stryker Replacement Hip?

Our law firm can help you seek justice and fair compensation.

Replacement hips are intended to provide additional comfort and mobility for people suffering from severe pain in their hip joints. However, for too many patients, certain hip replacement products have caused more harm than they were intended to prevent.

At the center of multiple lawsuits are hip replacement products manufactured by Stryker. Our law firm is reviewing cases involving patients who received any of the following Stryker products:

  • Rejuvenate
  • ABG II
  • Accolade TMZF
  • Citation TMZF
  • Meridian TMZF
  • LFIT Anatomic CoCr V40 femoral head

Victims injured by these faulty hip replacements have alleged that flaws in their design caused significant medical issues - and that Stryker knew of those risks but failed to warn consumers.

Health issues associated with Stryker hip implants

According to lawsuits filed by hip replacement surgery patients, these Stryker products have shown signs of corroding and fretting while implanted in patients' bodies. This causes a medical condition called metallosis - damage to surrounding tissue caused by metal particles. Over time, metallosis can cause tissue to become necrotic, or die, leading to extreme pain for the patient.

Stryker has already recalled the Rejuvenate, ABG II and Accolade products due to concerns about metallosis. Now, new studies have shown that the other listed products may carry some of the same risks.

Patients who are diagnosed with metallosis may require revision surgery to replace the defective implant, at considerable expense. And revision surgery carries its own risks and complications. Some lawsuits have alleged that patients sustained serious injuries such as broken legs after going under the knife for a second time-injuries that could have been avoided were it not for the flaws in the original hip implants.

Some of the damages (financial compensation) injured patients may be able to recover include:

  • Medical bills for procedures such as revision surgery
  • Home health care and other caregiver expenses
  • Pain and suffering
  • Loss of income
  • Loss of consortium
  • Loss of quality and enjoyment of life
